If you are using old version windows operating system then type notepad in run window and then press enter. When the notepad window become appears then copy the following given commands and then paste it into the notepad.

net stop wuauserv
cd %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution
ren Download Download.old
net start wuauserv

When the commands are successfully paste into the notepad then click on save as option from the file menu and after that in the file name box type rename.bat for the file name and then you have to click on save as type and then choose here all files. Save the remame.bat file into the desktop and then right click on the saved file and then click on run as administrator. If you are not logged in as administrator then you have prompted to the password then type password and then click on continue. After applying these steps in the computer try to install update again and if the windows update error code 0X80248007 removed from your system then delete the rename.bat file that is created above. When I was getting windows update error code 0X80248007 then I fix my pc by applying the given step above.
